The Solo ‘Batman’ Movie: Ridley Scott Waiting After Matt Reeves Is Choosen To Helm Film

Ben Affleck dropping the directorial job for the solo Batman movie is a big setback for the film. His triple role in the movie has led him to vacate the director's seat.

Jennifer Garner's ex-husband is supposed to be the writer, star, and director of the Batman movie. However, last January Affleck backed out as the director. Matt Reeves who helmed "Cloverfield," "Let Me In," and "Dawn of the Planet Apes" has agreed to replace Affleck but until now no final negotiations has been done.

In case Reeves will not be amenable to do it, either Ridley Scott or Fede Alvarez will take over according to Cinema Blend. Scott's famous projects include "Blade Runner," "Exodus: Gods and Kings," "The Counselor," and "The Martian." Alvarez directed "Don't Breathe," "Evil Dead," "The Girl Who Played With Fire."

Ridley Scott is already experienced in the genre but for Alvarez, he has no experience for high-budget movies. But his work in the "Evil Dead" is praiseworthy. In "Don't Breathe," he effectively delivered the thrill.

The script for the "Batman" movie has undergone changes and Chris Terrio did the revisions as reported by Movie Web. Ben Affleck wants a good script and Terrio's work was approved by the actor. Now everything has been ironed out except for the director.

Production will start anytime this year but Warner Bros. has no release date set yet. Scott Ridley has accomplished his work in the "Alien: Covenant" movie and is ready to start working on the Ben Affleck movie in case Reeves will not push through.

Fede Alvarez is all set if he will be chosen to direct the film. Whoever will be chosen among the three prospects, the movie is still in good hands. Will it be Scott Ridley, Fede Alvarez, of Matt Reeves? Stay tuned for updates.
