In a typically mundane argument about pork chops, one man is left dead. Thomas Hahn,55, has been charged with shooting and killing his roommate after the two argued about how a pork chop was cooked. The men lived in Holly Hill Florida and the victim is 35-year-old Robert Eugene Gray Jr. reports NBC News.
The man was shot twice in the head with a rifle by Hahn. WFTV.com reported that Holly Hill police are investigating whether or not alcohol played a part in the case.
Gray arrived at the house he shared with Hahn and two other roommates at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, police said to WFTV.com. The roommates were home at the time of the shooting but were not in the room. Hahn and Gray started arguing about the alleged pork chop when Hahn went back to his bedroom and got out his .22-caliber Ruger rifle. When he reentered the room he shot at least three rounds.
Police came over to the residence when there was a 911 emergency call placed. One of the roommates said on the phone, according to WFTV.com, "He's bleeding. He's shot in the head," to the 911 dispatcher.
When police came to the house they found Hahn sitting in the living room with Gray dead on the floor nearby.
A police report shows that Hahn said to his other two roommates that if Gray came home drunk he would shoot him. Roommates said that he even loaded up his rifle with three bullets the night before Gray's death, WFTV.com reported.
Holly Hill's Police Chief Mark Barker said to WFTV.com "This appears to be a senseless act of violence stemming from a minor domestic dispute between roommates."
