CasAnus Belgium: Spend the Night in a Hotel Shaped Like a Giant Colon [VIDEO]

Ever want to spend the night in giant anus? Now's your chance with Hotel CasAnus in Belgium. The hotel is situated on an island in Flanders, Belgium and was created by a designer who wanted to make a hotel that is shaped like a giant human colon. The humongous red structure, is designed like a person's intestinal tract.

Dutch designer, Joep Van Lieshout created the piece that was originally a sculpture, reported The Huffington Post. The hotel is now part of the Verbeke Foundation art park and costs €120 a night which includes breakfast. Writer Tom Hall wrote on Lonely Planet's website about the abode, "Before anyone reading this recoils in horror, staying here was a genuine pleasure, The small staff who work here, including Geert and CarlaVerbeke, are passionate about their foundation and the art being made and displayed here. On first arrival, a stroll around the grounds and through the large and important collection of collage works by artists from around the world sets the scene."

The hotel includes heating, a double bed and a bathroom and shower spread out in a sparse white interior. "The raw natural shapes and colors contrast sharply with the pristine white interior. Holds a 2-bed, a table, a shower and a toilet," states the Verbeke Foundation's website.

The Huffington Post reported that Geert and Carla Verbeke-Lens purchased the hotel to add to the Verbeke Foundation sculpture park that they own. The park is a popular destination for tourists and art enthusiasts alike with more than 20,000 people coming to the park each year.

Verbeke-Lens said according to The Huffington Post that area is a beautiful place to spend the night. "Guests are really happy to sleep undisturbed in a place surrounded by nature. They can see black swans and frogs and discover the stars in the night sky, as well as visiting all our different exhibitions. More and more travelers are coming to us from all over the world to explore what they call a 'unique place'."
