"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling has been very outspoken about her dislike of U.S. President Donald Trump in the past, and it seems like her views about him have yet to change after she took what many thought were some subtle snipes towards the controversial president.
While on the red carpet, the author was asked about her opinions on what the current political situation of the world so far, to which she replied: Let's just say it's a very interesting time to be writing a franchise about the rise of a populist maniac."
This latest comment comes after a very public spat that she had with British TV personality Piers Morgan. The outspoken writer recently blasted Morgan on Twitter saying "Watching Piers Morgan being told to (expletive) off on TV is exactly as satisfying as I'd always imagined." Morgan had a run-in with Jim Jeffries on the show "Real Time with Bill Maher" last Friday. According to News.com.au, the exchange between Morgan and the Australian comedian after the host complained about the immigration ban imposed by Trump.
"There is no Muslim ban", Morgan interrupted. The Aussie comedian - who has been known to use profanity in his stand-up routines - took immediate exception to the broadcaster's comment. He blasted Morgan telling him that there is a Muslim ban while going on a profanity laced rant.
Morgan compared the comedian's reaction to that of "hysteria" and said that 85 percent of the world's Muslims were still able to enter the U.S. under the executive order which has since been lifted. Morgan is a friend and supporter of Donald Trump.
In a recent report by The Mirror, Piers' son, Spencer, shared a rather awkward revelation on his father's public feud with Rowling. He posted a photo of himself on his Twitter account proudly showing off his "Harry Potter" inspired tattoo and necklace. He captioned the photo with "Well this is awkward" while tagging both his father and Rowling.
