A Panamanian woman who was stopped at El Prat airport in Barcelona was found carrying over four pounds of cocaine in her breasts.
The 28-ear-old woman was a drug mule who was forced to undergo surgery to have have full of the drug inserted under her skin like a breast implant, according to the Daily Mail.
When the woman got off her flight on Colombia's Avianca airline, police noticed that she was acting strange. They searched her and found that she had a blood-stained bandage covering her breasts.
The woman told the police that she had the bandage because of surgery she had to implant the cocaine packages into her chest. The woman was immediately taken to a medial center in Barcelona. Doctors removed 1.8 kilos (nearly four pounds) of cocaine, worth about $387,000 inside sealed bags in her breasts.
"She was in a very bad state when she arrived. She said she was not in any pain but the wounds looked very bad," a police source said, according to the Daily Mail.
The police officers had never seen drugs smuggled in this way, but it wasn't the first time that this has happened. In 2011, a model was arrested in Italy when they found that she had $400,000 worth of cocaine in breast and butt implants.
The 33-year-old model tried to distract the police with her cleavage at Rome's Fiumicino airport, but the plan worked against her. Finding her attractive, the police pulled her over and found her to be suspicious when she couldn't explain why she had traveled to South America.
A female officer searched the woman and found that she was hiding 5.5 pounds of cocaine in her breasts and butt.
