Who is the most desirable woman in the world? According to AskMen, the Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence is the queen of their "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" list.
Lawrence, 22, caught the attention of men around the world after seeing her performances in Hunger Games and Silver Lining Playbook, among other films. Men were so impressed that they chose her as the most desirable woman of 2012. She beat out Mila Kunis, who took the second spot and Sports Illustrated turned Vogue model Kate Upton, who took the third spot.
AskMen determined the rankings for the 12th annual "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" list based on 2.4 million votes from men around the world. Voters had to consider sex appeal, character, intelligence, talent, sense of humor, professional success, achievements in 2012, and potential for 2013 into consideration when casting their vote.
The list is comprised on 40 percent of newcomers. The list includes actresses, models, singers, athletes, Olypians, activists, and even First Lady Michelle Obama, who claimed No. 33. The list showed that men are finding strong and successful women to be among those that are the most desirable.
"The top-rated women on AskMen's 12th edition of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women list speaks to men's growing comfort with strong and independent partners," AskMen Editor-in-Chief James Bassil said in a release. "While undeniably successful candidates like Marissa Mayer have rocketed up the list, the more ambiguous "career" women -- like Kim Kardashian -- have plummeted on it."
Some of the women who made the list showed their appreciation.
"I am honored. I will adore this moment because I fear this title will drop next year because it's hard to look amazing in bobsled with snot running down your nose," said Olympian Lolo Jones, No.41.
"Thank you Ask Men for choosing me this year! It's such an honor and I hope I can continue being park of the AskMen family!" said Sport Illustrated model Jessica Gomes, No. 8.
