Fast food giant KFC has recently launched its new product called "Chizza", a pizza made with fried chicken crust. Already released in some parts of Asia such as Singapore and the Philippines, the very existence of this product has caused a lot of hashtags and eruptions on social media, especially from the UK and Australia.
So why exactly are people such in a great fuss over a pizza? For one thing, several people think it's a stroke of genius--combining the world-famous KFC chicken and pizza. According to the infomercial, "The 'chizza' is made of 100% mozzarella cheese, sauce made from California tomatoes (and) 100% chicken fillet and topped with cheese sauce, chicken ham and pineapple". But to some, it's not really worth all the hype.
Australia is actually quite mad knowing that the Chizza is not going to be available in the country. Their social media is bursting with pleas and rants to KFC, but according to the management, there are no plans to bring the 'chizza' "down under."
British fast food addicts are also hoping for the item to become available in the United Kingdom. Unlike Australia which has no plans of bringing the said product in their midst, nothing is confirmed yet with the Brits.
The only thing British KFC lovers are holding onto is the statement made by KFC to Express.co.uk when asked about the subject: "We're always looking to introduce delicious new products to our menu, and are really excited about the incredible response Chizza has received around the world. Keep your eyes peeled!"
Some who have tried the 'chizza' are not fans though. In the publicity photos, the 'chizza' looks like a standard-sized fried chicken base with overflowing pizza ingredients, but a twitter post actually compared the realistic picture of the 'chizza' with the promoted one, and the latter looks very small with which looks like a handful of pizza toppings and sauce just casually thrown on top.
But that doesn't deter the other KFC fans though. They are still waiting for the day when the 'chizza' becomes available in their country. So to fast food addicts, "keep your eyes peeled!"
