Even super humans slow down. This is true with Tiger Woods who has made an amazing career as a golfer. Last Friday, he announced that he will be missing the Genesis Open and Honda Classic due to an "ongoing back spasms." He also missed the Dubai Desert Classic held one week before.
It started in 2015 one week after his first tournament upon coming back on the PGA. Woods failed the cut at Farmers Insurance Open last January 27. Before the withdrawal to rest, he got in all of the official rounds on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. He successfully played at the Hero World Challenge one month ago. He aims to come back in time for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Tiger Woods gave an update on his condition. His doctors advised him to rest for two weeks to continue his treatment and to have his back calm down according to CBS Sports. He expressed his disappointment for missing the above events because they will benefit his foundation and the Honda Classic is his hometown event.
Woods shared that his yearly aim is to be ready for the Masters in April. Woods said, "The whole plan was to get my body, mind and spirit ready for that first full week in April."
Speculations on the winning form of the champion golfer surfaced. Yahoo reported that when he was asked how he feels, he answered "good" instead of "great." He added, "I don't think I'll ever feel great, because it's three back surgeries, four knee operations..." He is now unable to play longer stretches of time. The decreasing number of play time is a sign that the future is not bright for the once-superhuman athlete.
Tiger Woods is currently focusing on his recovery and hopes to return to the course again in April. Stay tuned for Tiger Woods updates.
