A lot of planning goes into travel ads sometimes and it's only appropriate that these pieces of advertising genius make it to YouTube. Many travel advertisements have been viewed millions of times. Visible Measures analyzed travel ad views and came up with a list of the Top 10 Travel Ads to watch in 2012.
Using True Reach methodology, Visible Measures determined how many views a video has, including all of those that have copies, spoofs and video responses.
The travel ad that takes the cake as far as views go is Air New Zealand's Hobbit-themed campaign for their new Hobbit inspired flight. The video, called An Unexpected Briefing, has 11,194,716 views. Air New Zealand also earns the No. 8 spot with its #airnz ad which garnered 1.2 million views.
The second most viewed travel ad is Dutch airline KLM's Be My Guest video. The video features several Dutch celebrities such as footballer Ruud Bullit, supermodel Yfke Sturm, and DJ Armin van Burren. The advertising campaign also involved prized for consumers, so the video reached over 10.4 million views this year.
Other companies that make the Top 10 include Disney, GPS brand TomTom, British Airways, travel site Expedia, Emirates, Visit Stockholm, and Canadian Tourism.
