A "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was one of its fanbase's biggest yearns and after it was announced for the first time, the hype surrounding it went crazy. However, after a couple of months of waiting, we haven't gotten near anything yet and Scott finally speaks.
Scott Cawthon, the genius behind "Five Nights at Freddy's" sort of brought bad and good news to the series' fans. While there's no word of the movie based on franchise being canceled, it wasn't making a huge progress yet either. After seeing a number of exposed concept arts and even some photos of the animatronics props, there's still a lot of things to "discuss" according to his post at Steam.
He has made a promise to provide an update by the end of the month of January, but unfortunately, the news wasn't something, fans were expecting. According to what he has stated, there are still some things that he isn't allowed to disclose. Cawthon mentioned in his post that the information he will be sharing will need to be "cryptic."
Cawthon quickly broke the news by informing everybody that the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was indefinitely postponed. It was apparently delayed and its progress, halted by numerous roadblocks involving usual issues regarding rights and the movie production itself.
However, "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie creator puts it, this is both a good thing as it is as bad. It wasn't a very pleasant news to a lot of fans because they'll have to wait again, and since all is back to square one, nobody won't be able to tell when it will get any significant progress.
On the other hand, Cawthon deems the situation as an opportunity to effectively deliver what he originally had in mind. He will be overlooking the production of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie from start to finish this time.
