"13 Reasons Why" is one of the forthcoming series in Netflix which is an adaptation of the best-selling YA Novel. Selena Gomez has been working on it being the executive producer. The series will deal with suicide, bullying, depression, emotional abuse and the like.
Gomez, who is currently producing the show opened up about her tough times as she worked with the series. According to her, she has been going a very difficult time during the start of the production. She added that she went away ninety days and actually met a lot of kids who has gone through certain issues like what the series is dealing with.
Her confession, however, was not surprising given that, she made an announcement in August that she was taking some time to focus on maintaining her health and happiness, as per Hollywood reporter.
There had been times when Gomez had been silent to her Twitter account and slowly had stepped back to the spotlight. Furthermore, Gomez added that as of the moment she still can't stand with the social media and on what they're trying to look at.
As per Entertainment Tonight, Gomez added that her own high school experience was amplified. For her, her high school wasn't that worse but it was hard. Thus, right now, she is trying to be a good influence on her peers, even though she admitted that it was challenging. But further, she added that she cherish all the relationships she had with her fans.
The "13 Reasons Why" series is expected to premiere on March 11 on Netflix and it centers high school student Clay (Dylan Minnette) who discovered an audio tape from his crush Hannah (Katherine Langford) who had killed herself two weeks earlier.
Just on Wednesday, the star posted a photo on her personal Instagram account together with the lead stars of "13 Reasons Why", Katherine and Dylan. She wrote that after six years of finding the right characters, she couldn't be luckier with her two lead casts.
