New Fantasyland Opens at Disney World

Disney World has officially opened its new Fantasyland Thursday. New attractions include additions that were inspired by Disney classics, "Beauty and the Beast," "Dumbo" and "The Little Mermaid."

The Associated Press reports that it is the largest expansion on in the parks history and it doubles the size of the original Fantasyland.

The new Fantasyland expansion is right next to the famous Cinerella Castle and has two sections. The first being the Enchanted Forest where "Beauty and the Beast's" Belle lives as well as Ariel from the Little Mermaid. The second area, Storybook Circus is home to Dumbo.

The AP reports, "Among the highlights: a ride called Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid, which tells Ariel's story, and Enchanted Tales With Belle, a walk-through experience that features a magical mirror and costumed characters."

Disneyworld's website states that at Enchanted Forest, "Here, you can venture through lush landscapes, discovering roaring waterfalls and royal castles along the way."

At the Enchanted Forest there is also a Be Our Guest Restaurant which features "Three incredible dining rooms in the middle of Beast's Castle." In Enchanted Forest Ariel's Grotto will be a place where people can meet and greet the red-haired beauty.

At Storybook Circus visitors can "take to the sky with The Great Goofini on spiraling stunt plane adventure high above the Storybook Circus grounds," at The Barnstormer, states Disney's website. There is also a revamped Dumbo The Flying Elephant ride and a new addition to Walt Disney World Railroad with the Fantasyland Station.

The AP reports that two of Fantasyland's attractions have not opened including a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride and Princness Fairytale Hall where visitors can meet and greet all the Disney Princesses. "Disney officials said the princess experience will open next year and the ride is expected to open in 2014," reports the AP.
