Actress Susan Luckey has passed away at the age of 74. Luckey was famous for her role in the 1962 movie, "The Music Man," in which she played the role of Zaneeta, Mayor Shinn's daughter.
TMZ reported that her daughter Shayna Reynolds said that her mother passed away at the age of 74, early Thursday morning. She said to TMZ that her mother had not been suffering any sort of illness and that it was "just old age."
Luckey has starred in a number of movies including the 1956 film "Carousel" in which she played Billy Bigelow's child. In 1966 she was in the movie "Step Out of Your Mind."
The actress was married to actor Larry Douglas from 1964 to his death in 1996. She has also starred a number of Broadway plays including the musicals "Peter Pan" and Take Me Along." She also appeard in "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show."
Luckey was born in Hollywood and made her first appearance on stage when she was only six years old in a Christmas play hosted by the Plummer Park Players, reported The New York Times. She also studied at the American School of Dance.
The New York Times reported that in 1998 Luckey re-emerged "to participate on camera, along with Shirley Jones, Onna White, and Buddy Hackett, in the 30-minute documentary Right Here in River City, telling of the making of The Music Man."
TMZ reported that instead of a traditional funeral Luckey wanted her body to be cremated and her remains put in a "decorative box" to be placed where other family members have been buried.
