Could Golden Spike Company Send People to the Moon by 2020? To Be Announced Dec. 6

Internet rumors are claiming that the Colorado-based company Golden Spike Company is going to announce its plans for a commercial endeavor to send people to the moon. The Huffington Post claims that the buzz on the internet claims the company is going to announce their "venture to send private clients to the moon" at a press conference on Dec. 6.

Wired reported that the invitation to the conference says, "The Golden Spike Company invites you to attend a game-changing announcement about the future of commercial human space travel to the Moon. Executives from the company will describe the team, the mission architecture, and the business model."

Wired reported that rumors suggested that backers of Golden Spike Company could include Richard branson and Warren Buffet, but those have been proven false. Wired also reported that the venture could include a $120 million deal with Space X.

There is not much known about Golden Spike Company and no known company website, when searching for them on the web. Wired reported that the company is Colorado based and registered to Alan Stern who is an aerospace engineer and planetary scientist who worked with NASA from 2007 to 2008.

He said in an interview in 2011, "I hope that in 10 to 20 years' time, we are on the hills of human return to the moon, so that we could then go on with humans to explore the solar system. I think this is our destiny," reported Wired.

Reported by NASASpaceflight.com, Golden Spike Company's debut to commercial moon travel could happen as soon as 2020. The media will find out on Dec. 6 what the announcement will be and if the internet buzz is correct about sending people to the moon in the next ten years.
