‘Veep’ Season 6 Announces Premiere Date; Will Selina Find Its Way Back To Politics?

The previous season of "Veep" has left the audience with the question as to what will be the post-presidential life be like for the former President Selina Meyer. However, despite the end of season 5, fans will no longer wait too long since "Veep" season 6 will be airing soon.

HBO has finally set the comeback for the award-winning satire's return date. On Tuesday, series star Julia Louis-Dreyfus already announced that the sixth season will be premiered on Sunday, April 16 this year, at 10:30 p.m. ET. It was also Dreyfus who shared the news through a short but a more enthusiastic Twitter video which showed her dancing with a sign in what appears to be the Oval Office, Entertainment Weekly reported.

It was during the season 5 when Selina, together with her team remunerated a valiant and messy fight for the presidency. But unfortunately, the Electoral College vote results came out a tie and they ended up electing Sen. Laura Montez which was played by Andrea Savage. The season has ended with Selina sitting in the rain and her staffs were forced to listen to the newly elected President Montez' parade.

Season 5 definitely had left viewers in limbo. Thus, for the upcoming season, everyone is hoping for Selina to find her way back to the politics. There were also speculations whether or not "Veep" will suddenly turn into a private citizen and how the satire will compete for the real-life political madness of President Trump, Goldderby reported.

Further, on the upcoming airing of season 6, there are also some concerns about the future of the show following the exit of show runner Armando Lannucci. However, David Manuel took the wheels in the fifth season and the show earned equal critical commendations which made them won second consecutive Emmy for Best Comedy series. Meanwhile, "Veep" season 6 will consist of ten new episodes and is two more months away from its airing.
