Megabus is giving away free bus trips!
Megabus.com, a city-to-city, express bus service which typically offers fares as low as $1, is offering 200,000 free seats for trips betwenn January 9 and February 28, 2013. As of today, customers can book their free trips.
Go to Megabus.com and select your trip. Then enter the promo code TRYMEGABUS in your search and you can choose the time of your trip. The promo code is valid for trips throughout the U.S. and Canada on travel dates from Jan. 9 to February 28.
Not all times or trips will qualify for a free seat, but a majority of them are part of the promotion. Those that aren't start as low at $1.
For instance, I personally booked an overnight trip to Boston in February. The trip to get there qualified for the free promotion, but I wound up spending $2.50 for the return trip at a specific time. Some earlier times also qualified for the free promotion. I was also able to book a second trip, absolutely free.
Specific seats such as those to Kirkland and Montreal are excluded due to local regulation in Canada, but there are $10 seats available. In the U.S., trips on Academy, Concord, Shortline and Suburban bus lines are also excluded from the free seats promotion.

Megabus began its bus service in April 2006 and is one of the largest express bus services in North America. Their buses are environmentally friendly and many include free Wi-Fi, power outlets and restrooms.
