Snakes on a Plane wasn't just a movie. An EgyptAir flight had to make an emergency landing at an Egyptian airport after a passenger was bitten by a snake that he secretly brought on board.
The passenger from Jordan managed to smuggle the animal in his carry-on luggage. The snake managed to bite the man on the board causing him to scream in terror, according to the Daily Mail.
The pilots decided to make an emergency landing so the passenger could get help. The flight was head to Kuwait, but it landed at the Hurgada airport, about 300 miles south of Cairo.
The passenger was taken to the hospital to be treated after the plane landed and the snake was confiscated by authorities.The flight then took off again and continued its journey to Kuwait.
This incident occurred two weeks after a scorpion escaped on a plane and stung a passenger during a trans-Atlantic Iberia flight from the San Jose,Costa Rica to Barajas airport in Madrid, Spain on November 22.
Out of a fear that the sting could be deadly, the pilot alerted Spanish air traffic controllers and told them to have doctors ready when they landed.
When the plane arrived in Madrid, the female Swiss passenger that was stung was rushed to the Ramon y Cajal Hospital to be treated.
