Dr. Phil's car, a classic 1957 Chevy was found on Tuesday after it was stolen during the summer. Police found the television psychiatrist's $100,000 vehicle intact and with little damage.
In August, Dr. Phil McGraw's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was stolen when thieves had it in a repair shop to have the transmission serviced. Thieves broke into the repair shop and made off with the black convertible with red interior.
The repair ship, RODZ Fabrication Inc. in Burbank, California offered a $1,000 reward for the return of the car.
Detetives, along with the Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention, started an investigation and were able to recover the car, along with 14 other stolen classics. Several suspects have been arrested in connection with the thefts.
Dr. Phil, who is a huge fan of classic cars, is ecstatic to be reunited with his vehicle.
"I can't say enough about the LA County Sheriff's Department and of the LAPD Trap West - particularly, Detective George Molina. Their tireless efforts and hard work resulted in the in-tact recovery of my car and the arrest of some prolific car thieves," Dr. Phil told TMZ.
"Many thought that my '57 Chevy was just a memory, but I had faith in LA's finest. This is just one more in a really long line of reasons that I am and always have been a passionate and outspoken supporter of our men and women in law enforcement. We don't thank them enough. I'll hug a cop every chance I get this month!." he added.
Dr. Phil is a longtime car fan. He has also owned a Chevy Camaro and sold his 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider and a 2001 Gemballa Porsche Turbo at the Barrett-Jackson auction company in Palm Beach in 2006.
