Frankie Muniz from "Malcolm in the Middle" suffered a mini-stroke and spent time in the hospital. Muniz shared the news on Twitter, "I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a 'Mini Stroke', which was not fun at all."
He added, "Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!"
The 26-year-old went to the emergency room with friends in Arizona, reported TMZ. He reportedly was having trouble speaking and understanding words. TMZ reported he is awaiting test results on Tuesday.
TMZ reported that doctors are not sure what the cause of the stroke is. TMZ reported that friends noticed he was "acting really weird."
People magazine reported that a mini stroke could also be used at transient ischemic attack or TIA. TIA is "when blood temporarily stops reaching the brain, causing stroke-like symptoms for one to 24 hours," said People.
The magazine also reported that TIA can be a warning sign for a full stroke in the future.
From 2000 to 2006 Muniz was on the hit tv show "Malcolm in the Middle" and then went on to racecar driving and now onto music. He is a drummer in the band Kingsfoil. He was nominated for an Emmy in 2001 for "Malcolm in the Middle," and won a "Young Star Award" from the Hollywood Reporter.
In 2008 Muniz pursued his open wheel racing career and competed in the Atlantic Championship. In 2005 he won the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race as a celeb rity participant and eventually signed a two year deal with Jensen Motorsport as a driver.
On Oct. 24, 2011 it was reported that Muniz was engaged to his girlfriend, Elycia Marie who owns Arcadia Vintage.
