‘Scandal’ Recap: Mellie Accepts Republican Nomination, Marcus As Press Secretary

Just right after the President-elect Vargas fallout and killed in his acceptance speech, it remained a question on who would have been the culprit behind it. "Scandal" however; may answer that question through a "Hardball" flashback. In looking back to Mellie's campaign, certain events will surely lead up to the Election Day. Meanwhile, Abby and Fitz will be seen working so close to the Vargas murder case while at the same time, Millie has to make a big decision.

It was before the Election Day when campaign trail happened. It was after Mellie accepts the Republican nomination and had celebrated with her campaign workers. It was also during that time when Olivia noticed a spark between Mellie and Marcus and Olivia warns her friend to stay away from the guy. But later she confessed to Olivia on what she felt for Marcus and the feeling has made her really happy.

Olivia injected into Mellie's head that the guy would have been using her friend to climb into a higher ladder. Hence, Olivia asked Abby to offer Marcus a job he cannot refuse and later on, he told Mellie that his new job will be the White House press secretary. Olivia's words came back to her and she tells Marcus off, Buddy TV reported.

Meanwhile, "Scandal" recap was also focused on the assassination of the president-elect Vargas. FBI curiously investigated the incident, and neither Fitz nor the FBI was highly interested in chasing Cyrus. Meanwhile, their suspect turns down a deal while admitting to the murder committed. Thus, Fitz pull Cyrus and Mellie into a room while discussing on how not to implode America, Entertainment Weekly reported.

But Fitz was seen leaving the room, and right then, Mellie asked Cyrus if he is going to kill her. While on the other hand, Cyrus took that moment to let Mellie knew that he was not responsible for the death of Vargas, but guess they won't believe it anymore.
