NBA News & Trade Rumors: Wilson Chandler Seeks Trade, Frustrated With Role In Denver

After a rough start in the season, the Denver Nuggets (21-27) are 7-3 in their last 10 games, while hoping for a spot in the playoffs in the Western Conference. They are currently one loss behind the Portland Trail Blazers (22-28) for the eighth seed in the conference. However, the Nuggets may be losing veteran forward, Wilson Chandler before this month's trade deadline.

Previously, it was point guard Jameer Nelson who was rumored to be traded out of Denver, now it is apparently Chandler's turn to be speculated to leave the Nuggets before the Feb. 23 trade deadline. According to Sam Amick of USA Today, the 29-year old forward is frustrated with the inconsistency of his role in Denver. Amick states that his sources are two individuals who know of Chandler's situation but wish to stay anonymous because of the controversial nature of the issue.

Despite having a career year, averaging 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2 assists, Chandler has not started a game since Jan. 12 when they won against the Indiana Pacers in which he scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Throughout the season, Chandler has started only 13 of the 44 games so far. His reserve role is mainly because of the reinstatement of 27-year old power forwad Kenneth Faried in the starting lineup.

According to Michael Saens of Fansided, it is obvious that Chandler is looking to acquire a role as a starter, but he does not have this opportunity in Denver. A trade could perhaps be the best option for both parties. In his current contract, Chandler has two remaining years after this season, and a player option for 2018-19 and he is earning an average of $12-million annually.

Do you think Wilson Chandler will be moving out of Denver before the Feb. 23 trade deadline? Which team should he move to?
