Michael Jordan Banned: Miami Golf Course Boots Basketball Legend Over Cargo Pants

Michael Jordan was banned from a golf course this week for not following the dress code. He may be a former NBA star, but the Miami golf club wouldn't let him play on the course because he was wearing cargo pants.

Jordan went to the La Gorge Country Club in Miami, Florida on Wednesday to enjoy one of his favorite hobbies and to relax while playing golf. He played a few holes without being bothered, but when he reached the 12th hole, a club worker approached him and told him to return to the clubhouse to change his pants, as they violated the dress code.

According to the New York Post, the fancy club requires all guests to wear a collared shirt and Bermuda shorts while playing golf.

Jordan refused to listen to the ridiculous request. As a result, he was banned from the club and asked never to return.

A representative for Jordan explained the issue to the Los Angeles Times:

"Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants. He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it's their loss -- as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest."The report states that the country club mandates golfers wear a collared shirt and Bermuda shorts while playing. It seems Jordan loves his pant compartments as much as he loves competition, because his sartorial decisions have cost him membership at the club.

Jordan spoke with ESPN to explain the situation further: "I've been there many times and no one told me a thing. Then all of a sudden they come to me on the 11th hole and say I can't wear cargo shorts. Wow! The round is almost over and you want me to buy shorts now? Yeah, right!!"

Jordan is going to have to find a new location to swin his golf clubs. The are likely many courses that wouldn't turn down the multimillionaire from offering them his business, no matter what he's wearing.
