Has genetic testing proven that Bigfoot exists? According to a press release issued by DNA Diagnostics testing has proven that Bigfoot is a human relative that lived 15,000 years ago.
"Researchers' extensive DNA sequencing suggests that the legendary Sasquatch is a human relative that arose approximately 15,000 years ago as a hybrid cross of modern Homo sapiens with an unknown primate species," says the press release.
The release from veterenarian Melba S. Ketchum from DNA Diagnostics states that the primate species had sex with modern human females to create the North American Sasquatch. The statement says, "Our data indicate that the North American Sasquatch is a hybrid species, the result of males of an unknown hominin species crossing with female Homo sapiens."
NBC News reported however, that though the theory is fascinating there isn't any real evidence. Her research hasn't appeared in peer-reviewed scientific journals, says NBC News. "If the data are good and the science is sound, any reputable science journal would jump at the chance to be the first to publish this groundbreaking information. Until then, Ketchum has refused to let anyone else see her evidence," says NBC News.
While many people have claimed to have seen the creature, there is no real evidence that Big Food exists despite photos and footprints that have surfaced. Ketchum said to The Huffington Post, "Well, it came to me, I didn't go after it, that's for sure. I did not believe in these creatures. But my lab did a lot of animal testing, and we did species identification. We didn't have any hits on anything interesting until five years ago."
The statement by DNA Diagnostics says that Kechum has had a 27 year career as a veterenarian, and has done research in genetics, including forensics.
