Travel Documentary Brand Aims To Revolutionize Travel Content For Tablets

(TRAVELWIRES): : Humanity.TV creating tablet magazine focused on short documentaries, interactive maps, and HD media.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:: Humanity.TV, an authentic travel series focused on locals from around the world, launched a Kickstarter campaign this month to help fund a revolutionary new tablet magazine and community-filmmaking initiative that aims to change the way we think about travel content. The company, which launched earlier this year, is set to change travel shows from host-based shows for TV to creative short documentaries on fascinating locals and authentic experiences from around the world.

The company is also working to create an interactive tablet magazine with short-form video, interactive maps, and HD media at its core, changing the focus from full editorial offerings to a more visual and emotional experience - what tablets are known for.

"Just as travel shows continue to focus on the same host-based format for the past two decades, they've also overlooked the power of the tablet experience." Said cofounder Gaston Blanchet. "Tablets are perfect for beautiful HD video and photography and, along with interactive and editorial features for context, we plan on harnessing this power and offering the most visually stunning and interactive travel magazine available."

The company is also planning a community-filmmaking initiative that will put the power of storytelling into the hands of the locals they feature - giving the viewer an unscripted, authentic look into the lives of others.

"We hope that through this community filmmaking aspect, we'll be able to showcase the people in the most authentic and natural way possible." Said cofounder Kerrin Sheldon. "Through this method of storytelling, we want to break down cultural barriers, stereotypes, and misconceptions by giving the power of the story to the subject themselves. A travel show should truly be about cross-cultural understanding and communication - and that is what Humanity.TVaims to accomplish."

The team has already begun work on the design and development of the iPad magazine and hopes to hire more filmmaking teams in early 2013 in locations around the world.
