Facebook rules may be a little tighter than they have to be, or the person in charge of removing content doesn't have the best eyes.Facebook removed a photo of a woman because her elbows looked like they were were breasts.
Facebook recently removed a photo of a blonde woman in a bathrub, saying that it violates Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. If the woman was revealing her breasts,it would be considered pornographic content. However the woman isn't nude in the photo, which some might think upon first glance.
What appears to be massive boobs is really just the woman's elbows propped up on the side of the tub.
The photo was first posted to the Facebook page "Theories of the deep understanding of things," as part of a Facebook alertness test. They put up the photo to see if it would be removed.
"FB moderators can't tell an elbow from a dangerous, filthy, uncanny and violent female breast," the page said. "No questions were asked and the post is down."
According to Gawker, Facebook now relaizes the mistake and apologized. They reinstated the original photo. "We made a mistake and sent an apology to the original poster," Facebook told Gawker.
Facebook's guidelines are often criticized for being too strict. They often remove photos on women breastfeeding their children, which has sparked protests by women's groups.
Those who repeatedly violate the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities may have their account removed from th social networking site.
