Ellen DeGeneres has successfully said her side on the travel ban imposed by the new US President Donald Trump. The "Finding Dory" plot was relevant to the current issues that beset America - immigration ban.
She started her show informing her audience what has transpired over the weekend. She said that last Friday, the president gave an order to ban people from seven different countries that are coming to America. Even those with green cards are banned. Then on Saturday, "Finding Dory" was screened at the White House.
The host said on Tuesday during her show that she is not political but she said that she is not in favor of the ban according to Breitbart. The U.S Refugee Admissions Program was suspended by Trump as he promised during his campaign.
"Finding Dory" is a story about a fish named Dory that lives in Australia. Her parents live in America. DeGeneres continued to tell the story that Dory arrives in America along with her friends Marlin and Nemo. They were caught and ended up inside the Marine Life Institute behind a large wall. "They all have to get over the wall, and you won't believe it, but that wall has almost no effect in keeping them out," she said joking.
She continued telling that even though Dory gets into America, she ends up all alone but the other animals help her. Ellen DeGeneres continued that she was separated from her family. She emphasized that they helped Dory despite their differences in color and nothing is similar about them. The host said that just like the other animals, "one must help those who are in need." She ended wishing that all those who watched "Finding Dory" have learned the principle of helping.
The 59-year-old who is a stern oppositionist on the Trump policy turned to social media and wrote, "For me, America is great because of all the people who came here. Not in spite of them." She added that her grandparents were immigrants and their helper is a Muslim and she is thankful for them.
Donald Trump's no-refugees policy received resistance from those who are against the ban. According to Vox, the president signed the order coincidentally during the Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Jewish activists declared that the president said he remembers the victims but in reality, he has forgotten the lessons of the past. Ellen DeGeneres is against the refugee ban but many celebrities like her support the president on his move.
