Unlike the first game in EA's reboot of the franchise, a new "Star Wars Battlefront" game will finally be featuring a single player campaign for those who would like to pursue quests and have a story-rich experience besides teaming up with other players online. It is also said that the game will be remarkably bigger than its predecessor.
In a recent report from Dual Shockers, the newest game in the series was revealed at Electronic Arts' quarterly financial conference call. CEO Andrew Wilson mentioned about the next "Star Wars Battlefront" game and he even confirmed that fans can expect it to come around this holiday season.
Wilson also told the press that the game is supposedly "bigger" than the first title, which was released back in 2015. The game is said to be sprawling in between almost every "Star Wars" era and will also introduce characters from each movie and from different timelines.
However, what really caught everyone's attention was the announcement of the single player campaign. This has been one of the most requested features for "Star Wars Battlefront," but despite a number of DLCs being released, none was devoted to providing some solitary experience.
As reported at The Verge, the game will still be developed by the same studio, which is DICE, but it will be teaming up with the new Montreal-based EA studio called Motive and along with Criterion, the studio behind "Burnout" and "Need for Speed."
Besides the latest "Star Wars Battlefront" game, EA and Bioware is also currently working on "Mass Effect Andromeda" has another project, which they believe to be another trendsetter and has the "potential to fundamentally disrupt the way people think about an action title, bringing friends together to play in exhilarating new ways"
There wasn't a lot of information provided for the untitled "Star Wars Battlefront" game, but EA promised the title to be coming around the fourth quarter. There's also no confirmation regarding which platforms it will be made available at the moment.
