Donald Trump's inauguration speech on Friday went viral after internet commentators noticed how it contained a line which caught the attention of Batman fans: "and giving it back to you, the people." The same line was used by the main antagonist in the "The Dark Knight Rises" - Bane! Not long after, a side-by-side comparison video of Trump and Bane's speeches made its rounds on the internet:

Now the creators of Bane have joined the discussion: artist Graham Nolan and writer Chuck Dixon told The Hollywood Reporter that Trump and Bane are indeed similar, and in ways more than one. The duo also revealed that they both voted for the Republican candidate in last year's presidential election.
With regards to their thoughts on the new president's inauguration address, Dixon stated that it was much like most of Trump's speeches, adding that he saw that as a good thing. He continued by claiming that Trump's detractors do not realize how the president's supporters see his tics and mannerisms as a positive thing rather than a fault. Dixon also expressed how he often saw "our last guy in that office" as a Bond villain. He then explained why he voted for Trump: he believes that the president will be able to shrink the federal government down to a "manageable size."
Nolan and Dixon created Bane in 1993 along side writer Doug Moench. Tom Hardy played the character of Bane in the 2012 film "The Dark Knight Rises." Donald Trump has previously been compared to another one of Batman's villains - The Joker.
Mark Hamill, the actor who voiced The Joker in the Batman animated series, has been re-recording some of Trumps tweets and speeches using the voice of his cartoon character. Hamill posted this tweet earlier this year:
