One of the most awaited PS4 exclusive game is almost here! Developer Team Ninja spent years doing the story and gameplay mechanics behind this action RPG, but the long wait is over. It has been announced that "Nioh" will be released on February 7.
According the Heavy, "Nioh" was initially a PS3 project back in 2004, but it went through multiple revisions, but in 2015, it was introduced as a PS4 exclusive. It also was previously announced that the game will be released in 2016, but some adjustments pushed the released this year.
The game is set in the early 1600s and is based around a man named William. The setting is a more fantastical rendition of the Sengoku Period. William is placed amidst the war and bloodshed erupting during this violent time, not to mention the threats of the demon "Yokai" who caused havoc. William will encounter all sorts of real world historical figures and original characters along the way.
Knowtechie said that the game has an interesting story, and that if you are a fan of "Onimusha," this will definitely be something to look forward to. The elements of "Nioh" will keep you entertained for a long time, plus the combat system is something that would be familiar to "Souls" veterans.
William has the ability to pick off enemies from a distance by using an equipped bow & arrow or firearm. Just like "Dark Souls" and "Onimusha," players will use gathered souls from defeated foes to upgrade the protagonist' skillset and weapon mastery.
Review copies of the "Nioh" reveal that the download size is 39.3GB and that players would need about 12GB downloaded to start the game. For those who pre-ordered, pre-loading should start about two days before launch, and shortly after the game launches, Team Ninja will release three large pieces of DLC which will include new enemies and new quests.
