James Cameron Defends 'Titanic' Ending Against Mythbusters

It has always been a debate for a long time when James Cameron ended his "Titanic" movie with a floating door while holding two people together, Jack and Rose. Mythbusters actually believe that the door, which holds Jack and Rose as they freeze to death in the subzero water in North Atlantic was so big enough to hold them together and many would want to believe that they survived the sinking of the ship.

Cameron himself is still holding on the movie's original ending. During a conversation, many argued if Cameron had finally changed his mind and admitted defeat on what probably was the end of Jack and Rose story. The Oscar-winning director of the movie was always asked about this long-time running dispute over the ending of this 1997 blockbuster hit.

As per Entertainment Weekly, Cameron said that he wants to play that out. If you're Jack and you are in the water of 28 degrees, your brain will surely get into hypothermia. But the mythbusters are trying to ask you to take off your vest and take off Rose's vest and swim underneath this door thing which means that by the time you'll come back you are already dead, Cameron explained.

He even emphasized more about the Mythbusters series while saying; "They're fun guys and I loved doing that show with them, but they're full of sh-". It was in 2012 when these guys presented to Cameron the results from their tests. The award-winning director added that these Mythbusters has been missing a point in their tests. It was clear though in the script that Jack dies and really he has to die on that film.

According to Screen Crush, Cameron does bring up a good point. But according to him, he hopes people will stop wishing for a happier ending or probably not. He even added that people can go read the script at page 147 and it simply shows how that film will really have to end.
