"Cult of Chucky", a famous horror sequel has begun its principal photography in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on January 9. This has been the seventh entry of the film on its franchise about a possessed and extremely dangerous doll which has begun with a 1980's "Child's Play."
The film will include Brad Dourif, who will once more voice the character of Chucky. It will also include the actor's daughter Fiona who will reprise the role of Nica Pierce and other franchise veterans Alex Vincent and Jennifer Tilly will be joining the film.
This film will be directed by Don Mancini who also was the co-writer of the original film and also directed the last two movies in the series; the 2004's "Seed of Chucky" and 2013's "Curse of Chucky". This new and upcoming film is expected to be released on an unrated version on Blu-ray, DVD, and even through Digital HD this fall, just in time for Halloween, EW reported.
"Cult of Chucky" is expected to catch up with the younger Dourif's character at an asylum for the criminally foolish people where she has been confined for the last four years. It will also be featured that Nica's psychiatrist will introduce a new therapeutic tool in order to facilitate his patient's sessions.
Further, another Canadian actress is also joining the cast in the person of Grace Lynn Kung. She is expected to portray the character of a hard-edged Claire. She just recently received a nomination for an Outstanding Performance in "The Death of Carl Naardlinger". She had made several guest appearances on television series "12 Monkeys" and "The Strain", Comic Book reported.
Further, Kung will also be seen on "The Expanse" and the six-part event series "Mary Kills People". She's ready to give suspense as this horror sequel hits the big screen by Halloween.
