Thanksgiving Day is here and thousands are watching the Macy's parade as they celebrate the holiday. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade takes place in New York and not everyone can be there, so there are ways to watch the parade live on television and through online video.

The parade starts at 9a.m. EST and ends around 12p.m. The parade is following a new route this year starting from 77th street and Central Park West and ends at Macy's Herald Square on 34th street.
The famous parade features dozens of floats, ginormous balloons, performances by famous music artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Colbie Caillat, and more. Several 2012 Team USA Olympians will also appear on the parade route.
One of the most impressive parts of the parade are the 50 foot balloons. Some characters include SpongeBob Squarepants, Spiderman, the Pillsbury Doughboy, Pikachu, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, and much more.
Every year, the parade ends with an appearance by Santa Claus= as the 2012 holiday season kicks off.
