New Tekken 7 ‘Rage and Sorrow’ Trailer Released

Tekken 7 is only mere months away from getting a console release, but the intriguing characters that fans have grown to love over the years continue to build up the hype. The popular 3D fighting game series has been a staple in arcades and home consoles for more than 20 years.

While the first two games really weren't nothing to write home about in terms of gameplay balance, they should still be given their proper due for laying the foundation on what would become the number 1 selling fighting game franchise of all time. Every title that gets released always has some sort of improvement to its predecessor, and Tekken 7 is no different.

One of the biggest changes that the game has made is its use of the Unreal Engine 4, which vastly improved the game from a visual standpoint. This is shown in full display in the latest trailer released for Tekken 7 titled "Rage and Sorrow." The trailer shows how the conflict between Kazuya Mishima and his father, Heihachi Mishima, started.

In the beginning we can see a young Kazuya throwing a combination of kicks and punches to his father who doesn't even flinch and effortlessly kicks away his own son. Kazuya blames Heihachi for the death of his mother (Kazumi), and we are then shown cinematic sequences of the story from previous "Tekken" games.

Bandai-Namco says Tekken 7 will be the conclusion of the Mishima family saga which has been the focal point of the game's story since the release of the first game. Tekken 7 is slated for release on June 2, 2017. The date did not sit well with some fans who expected the game to have an early 2017 release.

However, in an interview with Gamespot, Tekken Project leader Katsuhiro Harada apologized to fans for the release date, saying that the decision to push it back was a difficult, but necessary one. The Tekken team was also interviewed by IGN and revealed that "Gigas" is the most interesting character that they have ever designed for the game.
