Among the constant fighting between Israel and Palestine, a photo calling for peace in Gaza has gone viral. To men in Manhattan, one Jewish man from Israel and one Muslim man from Palestine, joined together to create a symbolic photo calling for peace between the two lands.
In the viral Gaza peace photo, one man holds a sign that reads "I'm Jewish and I'm from Israel," while the other holds a sign that says "I'm Muslim and I'm from Palestine." Both men are also holding a sign between them that says, "Why can't we all just get along?"
The photo was posted to the Facebook page Do Something, a nonprofit youth organization. They included the caption "Couldn't say it better ourselves." The photo has received over 23,700 likes and has been shared more than 10,700 times. It also has over 1,100 comments in which people share their feelings and give commentary on the situation.
One user wrote "Look at those 2 beautiful people getting along like we should be! Love this message!"
Others showed that they appreciate the message, but peace doesn't seem likely amidst the chaos in Gaza. "Meanwhile back in Gaza both these guys would be dead," another user wrote.
Others simply expressed their condolences over the issue."My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the 100 Palestinians and 3 Israelis who have perished during this routine brute force altercation between two governments who have forsaken the people they claim to represent. I say that not as the Palestinian I am, but as the human I am," wrote another user.
