Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson Film ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Predicted To Perform Behind ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’

Predictions for the Jamie Dornan Dakota Johnson film "Fifty Shades Darker" say that it will not perform above "The LEGO Batman Movie." The "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel is predicted to earn on its opening $30M-$42M. The animated Lego movie is foreseen to make $50M. Lionsgate's bet "John Wick: Chapter 2" is projected at $20M.

"John Wick" original film earned $14.4M on opening. The sequel is expected to increase by half. These films are set to be released on the week of the Valentine's Day according to Deadline.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" earned $85.1M during Valentine's Day last year for three days straight. On the fourth day, it increased to $93M. Competitor "Deadpool" made $132.4M.

According to Screen Rant, 2017 is expected to be dominated by comic book superhero movies with the release of Marvel Studio's increasing Marvel Cinematic Universe films. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", "Spider-Man: Homecoming and "Thor: Ragnarok" will be released this year. 20th Century Fox will release only one "X-Men" installment, Logan (the last that Hugh Jackman will play as Wolverine.)

The film that is expected to top this February 10-12 is going ahead than the rest in the release trying to benefit from the lovers' holiday. It is a spin-off from Chris Miller and Phil Lord's "The LEGO Movie."

The E.L. James story adaptation will feature the bizarre love story of the billionaire Christian Grey and the young college graduate Anastasia Steele. This time, it is going to be steamier and more daring. The restaurant and the elevator PDA scenes are highlighted in the newest clip. It seems that the story writer has succeeded in enticing viewers this coming Valentine's Day.

The sequel will have a thrilling addition as the trailer reveals. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson film is already anticipated since last year. The film will be released on February 10.
