Kitten Trapped in Statue For 3 Days is Rescued & Named Abe [VIDEO]

A tiny three-week old kitten that was trapped in a Abraham Lincoln statue for three days was safely rescued over the weekend.

The little grey fur-ball was "Abe" after he was rescued from the Abraham Lincoln at the Presidents Hall of Fame in Clermont, Fla. Authorities aren't sure how the kitten got stuck in the first place, but they knew there was something wrong they meows could be heard coming from the figure.

"I don't see how a little kitten could have gotten up there," Humane Society spokesman Daniel Davis told WKMG-TV in Orlando. "It can't crawl up there."

The Humane Society and Minneola Fire Department arrived and cut a hole in the statue. A firefighters then dropped into the hole and retrieved the kitten, bringing it to safety.

The kitten was dehydrated and hungry, but it was immediately fed and it will be nursed back to health at a vet.

John Zweifel, the curator at the Presidents Hall of Fame, hopes to adopt little Abe and give him a new home at the site.

The whole rescue was captured on video:
