Last year many fans who were hoping to see a new Nexus tablet from Google were left feeling a little as the search engine giant instead released the Pixel and Pixel XL. However, this doesn't mean that all hope should be lost as rumors have been going around about a new Pixel 7 tablet which is scheduled to be released this year, and will supposedly stack up well against Apple's iPad Pro 2.
Gigjets reports that the Nexus 7 will be released under the Pixel brand and will be renamed the Pixel 7. Google is also currently trying to promote its Pixel line and the company is hopeful that the new tablet will help spread the brand's popularity across. While there is no denying that there are still many people out there who still prefer the old Nexus tablets, they should still give the upcoming Pixel tablet a chance to see if it will match well with their personal preferences.
The iPad Pro 2 is expected to be released sometime later this year and based on several reports, there might not be that many tablets that could compete with it as far as specs go. The Pixel 7 could perhaps be the closest thing that the iPad Pro 2 will have to a rival. The upcoming tablet from Google will be operating on an 820 Snapdragon Processor. It will also have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space which can be expanded up to 2 TB.
In addition, the Pixel 7 will reportedly have a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary camera, and a screen with a display resolution of 2560x1240 pixels. It will also run on Google's Andromeda Operating System. The new operating system is a combination between the Chrome and Android OS. According to Forbes, Google might also be releasing the Pixel 3 laptop, or "Bison", in the third quarter of this year.
