Square Enix Teaming Up With Marvel For 'The Avengers Project' Made Things Look Even Better For Disney's Future

The recent reveal of the collaboration game between Square Enix and Marvel, "The Avengers Project" made a lot of online noise, hyping up fans of both companies. However, there's more to it than just having a game based from the "Avengers" as there could be more actual Marvel goodness to expect in the gaming scene.

In a report from Polygon, Marvel and Square Enix have decided to team up together to bring a number of games to be released and this starts with the recently shown trailer of "The Avengers Project." This was considered a great deal to both the publishers and the fans as there aren't any "proper" "Avengers" game to come out in the past years.

The official tweet from Square Enix easily brought the hype up with the hashtag #Reassemble. This suggests that the game will be somehow based from the post-Civil war setting. However, the short trailer was rather vague and suggests no real plots as of yet, let alone an estimate release period.

The move further proves to be more beneficial for Disney as the results from developing and publishing games aren't all to impressive and very lucrative. "Disney Infinity" was one of the obvious proofs that focusing over to licensing might just be the better path for the company trying to break in to the video gaming industry deeper.

However, fans may not expect something canon from the game. Marvel may preserve any potential plots for the upcoming films instead, giving the game some more unique take and something similar to an alternative timeline.

"The Avengers Project" would be a strong return for triple A gaming experience involving Marvel and it is also a welcoming thing after fans have potentially been burned out by a number of low-budget mobile games and some Lego Marvel titles. "Star Wars: Battlefront" made exceptionally good and people don't see another console game using some Disney licensing going wrong.
