Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us" is widely popular not just because of its graphics, but because of its storyline as well. There is no specific date yet as to when "The Last Of Us 2" will be released, but fans are positive that it will carry one the amazing plot of its predecessor. However, the game's trailer which was released last weekend may have hinted a suicide.
According to Trusted Reviews, "The Last of Us" is a story with a harrowing post-apocalyptic tale. Joel and Ellie has made players laugh and cry, and their story will continue on with "The Last Of Us 2," but this time, Ellie will of course be older, and even angrier.
Naughty Dog revealed that "The Last of Us Part" will take place five years after the original, with a 19 year old Ellie acting as the game's main character. Joel will return, too, and he will watch Ellie. Although the main storyline is unclear, what's apparent is that Ellie is very angry about something.
Now, some say that Joel is dead in "The Last of Us 2." The reason of this theory is that he looked like an apparition in the teaser. Sure, there are only a few shots of him in the trailer, but fans were quick to notice that Joel does not seem to age. Also, his clothes look suspiciously clean, while Ellie's clothes are rugged and full of blood stains. Some say that Joel's clean look could only mean that he is already a ghost.
But how did he die? Gamers speculate that Joel might have committed suicide in the past. Apart from his pristine look, those who have seen the teaser noticed that he's holding a gun the whole time.
Meanwhile, Video Games Republic reported that creator Neil Druckmann said that the game's storyline will still involve "personal politics" and that it is the inspiration of the game. Some fans asked Druckmann if he could avoid the same thing, but his answer is firm: "No can do."
