Jon Bon Jovi's 19-year-old daughter Stephanie Rose Bongioivi was arrested. Bon Jovi's oldest daughter was arrested at Hamilton College of an alleged heroin overdose on the morning of Nov. 14, reported US Weekly.
TMZ, who were the first to report the story, said that Hamilton College called Kirkland Police to report that Bongiovi overdosed and was not responding. When emergency medical crews reached the scene the teen was alive and in possession of illegal drugs.
Hamilton College released a statement to US Weekly saying, "In addition to violating state law, the actions alleged to have been committed by the students violate Hamilton College policy. The college is cooperating with the police investigation. Our first concern is always for the safety of our students. Out of respect for the privacy of our students and in accordance with federal regulations, we do not discuss individual health or disciplinary matters."
According to TMZ, Bongiovi's dorm room was searched and small quantities of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphanelia were found. She was taken into custody, reports TMZ, and released to appear in court at a later date.
Bongiovi, is the eldest of Bon Jovi's four children and the only daughter. Her mother is Dorothea Hurley. Bon Jovi and Hurley have three other sons, Jesse James, 17, Jacob Hurley, 10, and Romeo Jon, 8.
Police told People magazine that Bongiovi was recovering at a hospital and expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday. Another student named Ian Grant, 21, was also arrested and facing misdemeoner charges for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
"Bongiovi was also charged with possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation," reported The Los Angeles Times.
