There's a new sexiest man alive in town and it's none other than "Magic Mike" star, Channing Tatum. People Magazine revealed its 2012 list of the sexiest men alive and Tatum was crowned king this year.
Tatum, 32, was a big caught off guard when People told him that he was chosen as their Sexiest Man Alive 2012.
"My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,'" Tatum told People. He married his lucky lady, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, 31, in 2009. "I told Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked."
"She was like, 'What?," Tatum continued.
It didn't take long for his wife to agree with the choice after she heard the news.
"Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now," Tatum told People.
"People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don't know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is," she said of her husband of three years. "He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get."
As if his chiseled face and impressive body wasn't enough to win him the title, the Alabama-bred actor also enjoys sculpting, poetic quotes and giving his wife massages.
He also admitted that he wants to start a family with Dewan.
"I'm ready; I think she's ready," Tatum told the magazine. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."
"It's really easy for us guys to say, 'I want like 15 kids,'" he continued. "Jenna will be like, 'Well you better get another wife!'"
Tatum wowed female audiences in his role as a stripper in the 2012 film "Magic Mike." Now he's training to play an Olympian for a movie called Foxcatcher, which will be released in 2013. He will also play Captain Duke Hauser in the film "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," so he has been maintaining his sexy physique of 195 pounds of muscle for several roles.
"I like to be lean. If I get too bulky I can't move well and I like to move," he says. "When I'm not training, I get really round and soft."
People Magazine has announced their sexiest man alive since 1985. Last year, actor Bradley Cooper claimed the title. Other Sexiest Men Alive include Mel Gibson, Nick Nolte, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Pierce Brosnan, Johnny Depp and Richard Gere.
In the 2012 issue, other famous men earned different notable titles. The magazine also includes Men of the Year, Chill Guys, and Sexy at Every Age, which includes celebrities in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.Newlywed Justin Timberlake and "Taken 2″ actor Liam Neeson have earned the title of Chill Guys.
There is also a category of Hot Dogs, which includes famous men who love their pets. Some Hot Dogs include Game show host Wayne Brady and "Drive" star Ryan Gosling.
There is even a 50 Shades of Grey category which notes sexy grey haired hotties. Former President Bill Clinton, President Barack Obama, CNN host Anderson Cooper and "Skyfall" actor Javier Bardem all make the list.
