A teenage girl has gone missing on Tuesday in Los Angeles with witnesses saying a man dragged her away by the hair. Police are no undergoing a huge search for the teenage girl in the hills east of downtown Los Angeles.
The Associated Press described the abductee as 13 or older or possibly a small woman. The kidnapping occurred Monday night near a recreation center. Reportedly a man who is thought to be between the ages of 18 and 20 had an argument with the girl and abducted her, reports say.
"That argument escalated to the point where the male struck the female at least once in the face and then began to drag her up into the brush area by the hair," Lt. Andy Neiman said to The AP,.
Witnesses followed the man and said that he began to remove some of her clothes, said the police chief to The Washington Post. As of Tuesday afternoon, police have found leggings and tennis shoes, reported Police Chief Chalie Beck to The AP.
The AP reported that police on foot and on horse are searching the El Serano Hills, which are 455 acres long for the teenage girl. Helipcopters and bloodhound dogs are also searching the hills for any clues of the abducted teenager.
"My hope is that this was a dispute that was resolved in some way, but we have to treat everything like it's the real deal," Police Chief Charlie Beck said in a press conference.
Police have released sketches of the victim and the possible man who abducted her and dragged her by the hair.
Reports of the missing girl have not actually been filed and the teenager girl has not come forward to say that she is OK, so police continue to search for any clues in hopes of finding her.
