Cheerleader To Shave Head For Cancer Research in Support of Colts Coach Pagano

A Colts cheerleader has vowed to shave her head to raise money for cancer research after head coach Chuck Pagano was dignosed with leukemia.

Megan M., a cheerleader for the Indinapolis Colts, has stepped up to the plate and agreed to shave her head as part of a challenge. On Sunday, the Colts' mascot Blue sent out a tweet to the Colt cheerleaders saying "ATTENTION @nflcoltscheer: If I raise $10,000 4 leukemia research, will a cheerleader let me shave her head at our next game? #CHUCKSTRONG"

Megan M. replied, saying she would do it.

"@BlueColtsMascot count me in! I'll do it I'm #ColtStrong," she wrote.

Megan volunteered to shave her head in honor of coach Pagano and for personal reasons.

"Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. I've had close friends who passed away because of it and family members and we've even had a couple girls on our squad who lost their father to cancer," she said in a video on the Colts CHUCKSTRONG website.

If the Colts mascot can raise $10,000 for leukemia research by the Colts vs. Bills game on Nov. 25, Megan will shave her head.

Donations are being accepted by the CHUCKSTRONG fund on the Colts website. The money that is raised will go towards leukemia research at the IU Health Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.

This act of selflessness comes after the entire Colts team shaved their head to support coach Pagano as he battles leukemia. He recently began his second roung of chemotherapy to try to keep his cancer in remission.
