Many Americans dream of having to travel and relax all day but only a few get to realize that dream. That's why the people behind Project: Time Off, marked January 31 as National Plan for Vacation Day and encourages everyone to take advantage of their office leaves.
The group mentioned in their research that, when the numbers were crunched, most people in the US have 658 million days unused leaves every year. Project: Time Off mentioned, "In our culture of packed schedules, hyper-connectivity, and work martyrdom, American workers are in serious need of a break. It's time to start being intentional about how we spend our days."
'We understand the value of vacation time for our relationships, personal well-being, and professional success. Yet, 51% of Americans skip the one step that could help them vacation: planning. Individuals who plan are more likely to use all of their time off, take more vacation days at once, and report greater levels of happiness in every category measured."
Americans are urged to plan in advance and that's why the group wants a whole day of them spent on planning that perfect vacation they all want. Only 49 percent of the population set aside the proper hour for arranging their holiday get-together whereas 51 percent of the planner immediately took their time off and 39 percent of non-planners did.
About 69 percent of planners got more than a week off of vacationing while 49 percent of non-planner did. The bottom line is that Americans enjoyed and gained more if they plan beforehand.
And the results? A whopping 85 percent of Americans planners have improved their relationships with their partners, 69 percent have better relationships with their children, 81 percent are happy with their financial situation and 90 percent of them are happy with their profession.
