Carnival Sunshine Deck Plans to Reveal One of the Largest Water Parks on a Cruise

The Carnival Sunshine will debut one of the largest water parks on a cruise ship in April. The cruise line is one of the most prolific and they are completely revamping the Carnival Sunshine which used to be called Carnival Destiny.

USA Today reported that the boat is opening up a a new WaterWorks area which will include five water slides, one being a Twister slide that is 334 feet long and comes out over the edge of the ship. It will also include features such as a huge dump bucket that will soak people in the park.

Carnival Sunshine's website states, "The groundbreaking Carnival Destiny will become the even-hotter Carnival Sunshine in a 49-day, $155 million dry-dock process. We've challenged ourselves to see just how much fun we can fit into this ship - click the hotspots below for some of what you can expect to enjoy."

USA Today reported that other additions include Havana Bar, which is a Cuban themed bar, a milkshake spot called the Shake Spot and more new restaurants and cafes to enjoy on board.

USA Today reported that Food Network's star chef, Guy Fieri who hosts the show, "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives," has developed a burger restaurant called Guy's Burger Joint.

Carnival's website states that the 49 day refurbishment is the longest in Carnival's history.

"Nearly half a dozen other new themed bars and eateries that Carnival has been adding to ships also will debut on the Carnival Sunshine, including the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub, RedFrog Rum Bar, BlueIguana Tequila Bar; EA SPORTS Bar and the Alchemy Bar," reported USA Today.
