The famous Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel plans to host a big concert in efforts to raise money for victims of superstorm Sandy. USA Today reported that the holiday concert will occur on Dec. 15 and is part of the hotel's "Bleau Live" concert series that it is holding in 2012. Phil Goldfarb said to USA Today that the concert will include greats like Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder.
Warwick asked Fountainebleau execs if they could turn the concert into a benefit for Sandy victims. Goldfarb said to USA Today, "We said, 'Done ... And she made some calls. Who's going to come is going to be amazing."
The concert will benefit United Way. Goldfarb said to USA Today, "We're going go raise an awful lot of money for the hurricane victims."
In 2012 the hotel will host four Bleau Live events and next year they plan to do twice as many. Their website says about their Bleau Live series, " Fontainebleau's BleauLive continues the tradition of entertaining guests with performances by Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Tiesto, Pitbull and other celebrity artists. Fontainebleau has been a destination for entertainment since opening in 1954. In the glamorous golden era, legendary artists including the Rat Pack, Elvis Presley and other classic performers graced the iconic hotel with their gifted talents."
The hotel is iconic and famous in Miami beach. Opened in 1954 it is a historic testament to the city and located in the heart of Miami's Millionaire's Row.
