A woman in Turlock, California has been reported to the Secret Service and fired for a racist slur she made about President Obama on Facebook.
The Modesto Bee reported that Denise Helms, 22, posted comments on Facebook about President Obama after his reelection on Tuesday. She reportedly used the n-word in referencing The President as well as saying that maybe he would get assassinated this term. She reportedly wrote on Facebook, "And another 4 years of the n-----. Maybe he will get assassinated this term..!!"
The San Jose Mercury News reported that Helms then told a TV station in Sacramento that she wouldn't mind if someone assassinated President Obama. Helms, who works at Stone Cold Creamery was also fired due to the racist remarks.
Her boss, Chris Kegle said to The Modesto Bee, "We found her comments to be very disgusting, and they do not reflect our opinions here," Kegle said. "We never saw anything from her at work like those comments. We made the decision because of her comments, but also the community feedback," he added. "We are very into working with the community and doing community service. So when your community does not like you because of an employee, that's bad. We have a business to run."
She said to Fox 40 a Sacramento TV Station, "The assassination part is kind of harsh. I'm not saying like I would go do that or anything like that, by any means, but if it was to happen, I don't think I'd care one bit."
She also wrote this statement after the fact, "So apparently my post last night about Obama got onto Twitter and Fox 40 came and interviewed me cause apparently a lot of people in Sacramento think I'm crazy and racist. WOW is all I got to say!! I'm not racist and I'm not crazy. just simply stating my opinion.!!!"
The incident is being investigated by Secret Service as threats against the President are illegal and a felony.
