Las Vegas isn't just known for being a hedonistic city for gambling and partying, it is also a foodie capital of the world with major chefs bringing excellent fine dining to the city.
Adding to its repetoire, Food University in Caesar's Palace brings a three day culinary fest which includes major names in the restaurant industry. NBC News reported that the award winning chef faculty include Michel Richard and Claudine Pepin. Also incuded are sommeliers and mixologists and cheese expert Laura Werlin.
Food University's website states that it is a "three day, hands on, fun filled program designed to provide its guests with the essentials relative to ingredients, cooking, food, wine and more with our "faculty" of prestigious celebrity chefs, authors, high-profile sommeliers and world-renown purveyors."
"Eighty tuition-paying students will participate in a variety of classes in cooking techniques and go on VIP field seminars that will include behind-the-scenes tours of foodie-destinations around town," reports NBC.
The Events organizer, Richard Gore said to NBC News, "At a lot of food festivals around the country, people watch celebrity chefs perform, but then go home with no new skills. Food University will be a foodie fantasy camp where everyone gets to come into the playground."
The students will also be tested on the the things they learn in class and will have to do a cook off which includes a full meal of appetizers, salads, main course, two sides and desert. For this, the will be split into teams of three. They will then be judged by Vegas celebrities, reported NBC News.
Dates are from Dec. 13 to 13th and costs $1,995.
