President Obama won the election on Tuesday, with America granting him another four years in the White House. Many celebrities have openly displayed their support for Obama and one celebrity, Eva Longoria, who has always been an open supporter for the President tweeted a number of comments about her support for Obama, the last one being that she was so happy she was in tears.
She wrote on Twitter:
Fox News Latino reported that "it was a hard-won second victory for President Barack Obama, who was neck-and-neck in the polls as election season came down to the wire."
ABC News reported that Longoria said on "Good Morning America" on Nov. 7, "I was moved to tears and I was so excited because we did work very hard for the campaign," she said. "But at the same time, it just showed that the middle class won and the super PACs didn't get to buy the election, they didn't get to buy America."
Longoria has been a campaigner for the Obama campaign and gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention and has served as his campaign co-chair. ABC News reported that Longoria said, "It was a huge night for a lot of people. For women ...A huge night for the LGBT [community] that showed up for the president. And of course it was a huge night for Latinos, and I was very happy to be a part of that."
She also noted that she did not campaign as a celebrity but, "we were doing it because we care deeply about this country. I think for me there was a very, very clear choice for the future that I want to see for this country and I did it as my civic duty," she said, reported ABC News.
