Coincidences happen in life. One of which is the B Street Band which was asked to perform at the Trump inauguration. The group is the cover band of Bruce Springsteen. The group dropped the opportunity of playing at the Garden State Presidential Inaugural Gala on January 19.
The very loyal band announced their decision to back out from the event on Monday. They feel that Bruce Springsteen, a stern critic of Donald Trump, will not approve it as reported by Huffington Post.
According to founder Will Forte, 63, their decision stemmed from the respect and gratitude they have for the "Long Walk Home" singer. He said, "Bruce's music has been the foundation of our livelihood. The B Street Band would not exist without the talents of Bruce and our E Street brothers."
Despite the fact that long before the elections was held, the group has already signed to play at the gala mindless and unknowing in 2013 who will be inaugurated. At first, the B Street Band wants to fulfill their commitment but received backlash. They ended up backing out at the last minute. They compared the situation as being caught in a hurricane. The band admitted that they did not see it coming.
The 67-year-old musician called the incoming president a "moron" and criticized him for "normalizing while nationalism and alt-right movement." In a report by Rolling Stone, the rocker also called Trump as a "flagrant, toxic narcissist." He also declared that the Republican candidate will lose the election and was upset with him when he claimed that the election is rigged.
Bruce Springsteen campaigned intensively against the Trump presidency. Aside from the band, Jennifer Holliday also backed out from the gala. He is known for writing his political sentiments in the lyrics of his songs. The Boss is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
